Where do you get your food?

Food

Supermarkets shelves are empty, stores are shutting down, food riots break out…

Where would you get your food?

The recent Gov’t created crisis around the Covid scare has disrupted the supply chain, strained grocery stores, and is putting thousands out of work here in Colorado.

In the event of a crisis, if you don’t have any other source for food, you will be reliant on gov’t handouts, and charity for your food.

Westword had a great article last week titled “Where to Get Groceries Outside of Standard Stores and Markets.” It is well worth the read. There are several locations to find food outside of supermarkets.

Some other solutions include:

Start a Garden

Coloradogardening.com has a great list of resources on their website to help you start your garden.

Consider finding a local Colorado Garden Club to join.

Buy Direct from Local Farmers

Find a Farmer’s Market and meet a farmer you can buy from directly.

Now is the time, to start becoming more self-reliant.

Now is the time, to start building relationships with farmers and local food producers

UPDATE: 5/4/20: 303 Magazine has an article worth checking out: Farms and CSA Programs Offering Delivery or Pick-Up Now

Any suggestions? Leave them in the comments! Thank you!
