Colorado Voters Want LOWER Property Taxes! Hot Mic Catches Superintendent Admitting Truth…

Property taxes in Colorado have skyrocketed this past year!

Some Colorado homeowners are struggling to stay afloat with these higher taxes.

And even the Left-leaning Denver Post Editorial Board is asking local governments to lower property taxes!

Just recently, Jefferson County Schools Superintendent admitted on a staff call that she expects the request of a property tax increase to fail in this year’s election!

The truth is Coloradans are paying too much in taxes!

Any property tax increase should be opposed including any attempt at a mill levy override.

Coloradans must fight to lower property taxes at the local level!

Here’s a quick reminder of how your property tax bill is determined:

The State Legislature determines the Assessment Rate for property taxes.

The County assess your property to determine it’s Actual Value.

Your Local Governments, including County, Municipality, and Special Districts (School District, Recreation District, Water District, etc) determine your Mill Levy Rate. (Mill Levys are voter-approved thanks to TABOR)

The equation is then as follows:

The Actual Value of Your House X The Assessment Rate = Assessed Value

Assessed Value X Mill Levy Rate = Taxes Due

So, you can lower your Mill Levy Rate by organizing and engaging at the local level.

That’s the most effective way to fight for lower property taxes!
