I grew up in Jefferson County, and it is truly one of the best areas near Denver to live… until recently.
Part of the problem is allowing individuals who do NOT live in the county to make decisions that affect the county.
Case in point, Jefferson County Public Health Director Mark B. Johnson who lives in BOULDER. (source)
That’s right, Jeffco taxpayers are shelling out HUNDREDS-of-THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to pay the salary of an unelected bureaucrat that is SHUTTING DOWN Jeffco businesses.
Doesn’t it make sense for only those who live in the county to make decisions about what happens in that county?
