The Special Session Failed! Now What?

The Colorado Legislature convened for four days with the primary purpose of achieving “meaningful property tax relief.”

They failed.

Although the Governor, and Colorado’s Democratic Legislators claim that Senate Bill 1 will help Colorado property owners, the reality is that the average homeowner will save $200 on their property tax bill next year.

Now, the Governor is urging local governments to lower the mill levy rates to save property owners on their taxes.

2024 is a big election year, and a Colorado business group has already started the process to put a big property tax cap on the ballot.

In this video, Natalie Menten explains what happened at the Special Session, why the Governor is panicking, and how local governments across Colorado are already lowering their taxes.
