After a stabbing spree that left two people dead on the 16th St Mall, Denver Mayor Michael Johnston held a Press Conference to say the mall is “safer now than it’s been in a long time.”
But an angry Denverite wasn’t having it!
The Mayor’s Press Conference was interrupted with shouts of “I saw you at the parade, you f-ing coward Mayor… This is your fault! Crime loving Democrats are burning this city down… The city is burning, people are being butchered!”
I hope this outburst symbolizes a change in the city. I hope that Denver residents stop taking excuses from the Mayor and City Council.
Crime, homelessness, and a deterioration of the downtown area is having a negative impact on the City.
According to Westword, within the last 6 months, “65 violent crimes (were) reported within a block of the mall…”
That’s a reported violent crime nearly every three days!
And how many crimes go unreported?
