That’s why so many in the Liberty Community have been pushing back against Civil Asset Forfeiture!
Even back in 2017, Republican State Legislators Senator Tim Neville and Rep. Steve Humphrey fought for reform.
And since being elected in 2022, Rep. Ken deGraaf has been attempting to reform Civil Asset Forfeiture every Legislative Session!
After three years in a row of having his reform attempts shutdown by the Democratic Majority, Rep. deGraaf is now making progress!
His bill, HB26-1250 made it out of it’s first Committee Hearing and is on the path to becoming law!
What’s different about this year is that Rep. deGraaf is working with Assistant Majority Leader Rep. Jennifer Bacon.
With a member of the majority party on the bill, HB26-1250 has a real chance of passing!
