Colorado’s Authoritarian Political Class has a bold plan: Disarm the public.
Local politicians are jumping at the chance to infringe on their citizen’s Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Just last week, four towns in Boulder County pushed through new laws to enact their plan.
But the story begins last year, when Jared Polis and his collaborators in the State Legislature passed SB21-256 into law.
This bill allows local governments to infringe on the rights of Coloradoans without the State interfering.
Make no mistake, Jared Polis signed this bill and is directly responsible for the gun control we are seeing now.
These local City Councilmen and Mayors are the same people who supported turning their communities into prisons during the Covid lunacy.
Apparently, these people want to enact their control schemes without fear of resistance from their potential victims.
Record-breaking violent crime, possible food shortages, destructive riots, and de facto martial law have been plaguing our state for the past two years.
The Boulder City Council proudly boasts on their website, that these gun restrictions were sponsored by Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, and Everytown for Gun Safety.
You can read the packet from the professional anti-gun lobby:
Thank you to Rally for our Rights for publishing this pdf.
These anti-gun plans are frightening for many reasons: Gun Bans, Bans on Carrying a Firearm, Bans on Building Your Own Firearm, etc.
One of the worst is the ban on concealed carry in churches!
This would make churches easy targets for evildoers.
This coordinated attack on our rights has been in the planning stages for years.
June 7th Anti-gun Attack
Boulder
On June 7th, the City Council unanimously voted 9-0 to pass six bills.
The politicians who voted to deprive their citizens of their rights are:
Matt Benjamin – up for reelection in 2025
Aaron Brockett – up for reelection in 2023
Lauren Folkerts – up for reelection in 2025
Rachel Friend – up for reelection in 2023
Junie Joseph – up for reelection in 2023
Nicole Speer – up for reelection in 2025
Mark Wallach – up for reelection in 2025
Tara Winer – up for reelection in 2023
Bob Yates – up for reelection in 2023
Boulder’s new measures do the following:
From the County website:
- Banning assault weapons, large-capacity magazines, and trigger activators such as bump stocks, similar to the laws passed in Boulder in 2018. The previous ban was challenged in court because of the state pre-emption statute at the time.
- Banning ‘ghost’ guns, as Denver did earlier this year. The term “ghost guns” refers to firearms without serial numbers that are often built from 3-D printers or kits and are therefore nearly impossible to trace.
- Raising the age limit for purchasing firearms from 18 to 21 and/or updating language to demonstrate this intent. Evidence shows that individuals in the 18 to 21 age range are at a higher risk of committing violence.
- Instituting a 10-day waiting period for firearm purchases. This is designed to prevent purchase of firearms on impulse for immediate use.
- Prohibition on open carry in public places. The open carry of firearms allows intimidation of peaceful protesters and voters. It can also help enable persons intent on gun rampages avoid police in the time leading up to the moment of shooting.
- Disallowing carry in “sensitive” areas. These areas would include public buildings, polling places and ballot counting centers, banks, theaters, courthouses, hospitals, and other sensitive locations.
- Requiring firearm sellers to post a health warning on premises. Signage would warn of the increased risks associated with firearms ownership, including suicide, death during domestic disputes, and unintended deaths of children or other family members.

And KDVR has a report with more details.
Superior
On June 7th, the town board unanimously voted in favor of the anti-gun agenda.
The Town of Superior, started their meeting with Dustin Williamson, a lawyer for Everytown for Gun Safety on their virtual call!
The Mayor even had to ask Williamson to turn off his camera, during the roll call of the meeting.
Clearly, Williamson was already on the call prior to the start of the public meeting!
You can read their agenda here.
The anti-gun politicians are:

I want to point out that these elections in Superior are won with very small numbers:

There is Hope for Freedom
Elections have consequences, and your efforts can have an impact.
One line that keeps popping up among the anti-freedom politicians is, “change the culture.”
It seems that these laws are specifically designed to do just that.
The authoritarians in society want to shift our culture away from independent, self-sufficient individuals.
Promoting a culture of liberty is the key to long-term success.
And local political action is necessary for preserving our liberty in the short-term.
The time is now to get organized.
Build a community of Pro-Freedom Activists in your area.
Stand tall, speak loudly and fight for freedom.
If you want to defend and preserve your rights, you should run for local government or support pro-liberty candidates.
I hope you want to be a leader in your community.
If so, please let me know: life.without.limits@protonmail.com
You can also support these organizations to help defend gun rights in Colorado:
Everyone should be aware that the concealed carry prohibition ordinances in Lafayette and Superior are for ALL city owned “real property.” At the second Lafayette meeting, where the ordinance passed 5-3, the City attorney confirmed that this INCLUDED all city “rights-of-way” – streets, sidewalks, alleys, trails, etc. Superior passed the same ordinance from the Everytown/Moms Demand Action group unchanged. However, Louisville and Boulder, no doubt on advice of their city attornys, specifically excluded rights-of-way from prohibition.
So in Lafayette and Superior, it will now be ILLEGAL for licensees to even carry concealed from their car parked on the street to any private property (including their home). It is also illegal for pedestrians to carry concealed just walking on the sidewalk or any trails. As I wrote, the Lafayette City attorney CONFIRMED this at the public meeting. By the same ordinance carrying CASED firearms is also now illegal on all “rights-of-way” since the ordinance prohibits ANY GUNS, on city real property, concealed or unconcealed, cased or not. Really, really dumb because it conflicts with the intent of the separate open-carry ordinance, which requires transported guns to be unloaded and cased – but now can’t be transported on rights-of-way. Yes, I am certain of all this. You can read the passed ordinances through the links on the city council websites for Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette and Superior.
The Denver ordinance only includes public buildings and parks, not all city “real property,” so the rights-of-way issue didn’t come up there.
The Lafayette and Superior ordinances are obviously illegal, contary to both the intent of the Colorado state concealed carry law, and this week’s Supreme Court Decision – which clearly states that a city cannot ban carry everywhere in the city.
