According to the media, a “Castle Rock man” cut off his ankle monitor, fled the state and was ultimately captured by 20 minutes north of Mexico!
Thankfully this criminal was captured, but depending on which media outlet you read this story at, you probably didn’t get the whole story.
Not only has Colorado’s mainstream media left out key details of the story, but this specific story illustrates the big problem with Colorado’s criminal justice problems.
This criminal was on trial for sexual assault of a child and faces a potential sentence of life in prison.
So why was he able to be out on bond during the trial? Why did the judge reduce the bond so much? Why wasn’t it known until the next morning that he cut his ankle monitor off?
And, why didn’t the media report this criminal was in the country illegally?
