Colorado’s 2026 Tamale Act: How a Good Bill Goes Bad! HB26-1033 Hurts the Cottage Food Industry!

Things can change very quickly in the State Legislature!

A bill can start out as a good Pro-Liberty policy, but then get amended to become a massive expansion of government.

That’s exactly what happened with HB26-1033, the Tamale Act.

Originally, this bill would have expanded Colorado’s Cottage Food Act to include temperature-controlled food.

Unfortunately, the bill was amended in it’s first Committee Hearing to now include a registration component that would require EVERY cottage food producer in Colorado to register with the government!

What was once an increase in our Liberty has become a major expansion of government!

In this video, Brandon breaks it all down and includes a clip from this last week’s Legislative Livestream.
