Colorado Democrats are continuing to put kids at risk in government schools.
School districts across Colorado, most notably Jefferson County, have seen predators use their positions of trust to harm children.
And when these teachers or staff members get fired, they apply at a different school district and repeat their same abusive behavior.
This is a known problem, even acknowledged by school district leaders.
That’s why Senator Mark Baisley introduced Senate bill 55, which would require school staff who were fired for misconduct to be put in a registry.
This bill would have ensured that staff and teachers who act improperly with students would be barred from getting a job at another school.
Of course, Democrats in the State Senate voted against this bill, postponing it indefinitely.
This means that Colorado school children will continue to be put at risk by dangerous adults.
In this video, Brandon examines this bill and shares the testimony of the bill’s proponents, including Lindsay Datko of Jeffco Kids First and Teddy Collins, who is running to replace Senator Baisley. (Note: Senator Baisley is running for US Senate, so he is not running for the State Senate this year)
