Why is your health insurance so expensive?
Well, one of the reasons is that our State Legislature added a “fee” to insurance companies that raised costs.
And some of this “fee” revenue is being used to subsidize health insurance for illegal immigrants.
According to Colorado Public Radio, 12,000 illegal immigrants were getting “free health insurance through the OmniSalud program in 2025.”
These recent articles prompted Brandon to dig into the law that created this program back in 2020, SB20-215.
During the debate over this bill, it was admitted that Colorado would “for the first time” subsidize health insurance for illegal immigrants.
Also, it was debated that SB20-215 was less of an enterprise and more of a statewide taxing district.
In this video, Brandon plays some of the video from the debate over SB20-215 and explores how this program is costing Colorado big money!
