“It’s for the Collective Good!” Socialist Legislator Lorena Garcia PROUDLY Supports Taxing Overtime

Colorado has actual, self-admitted socialists serving in our State Legislature.

Rep. Lorena Garcia, a Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) member, is also one of the prime sponsors of HB25-1296, which decoupled Colorado tax policy from federal policy in regards to overtime pay.

Coloradans will continue to be taxed on their overtime wages while the rest of the country isn’t.

During the 2025 Special Session in August, a bill sponsored by Republicans (HB25B-1020) would have removed overtime pay from Colorado’s income tax.

As expected, the Democratic majority killed the bill in committee.

Rep. Lorena Garcia gave an impassioned rant during the committee hearing, and in this video Brandon breaks it down.

It’s important to understand how extreme the underlying ideology is with left-wing radicals in the Legislature.

The hardworking people of Colorado need to realize how we are viewed by socialist legislators who want to take more of our money, and ultimately see us as a means to an end.

Rep. Garcia and others want to use our paychecks to create their vision.

It’s absolutely not the proper role of government, and Coloradans must stand up and speak out against these authoritarians.
