Governor Jared Polis actually did the right thing.
He vetoed a bad bill (SB25-077) that would have weakened the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA).
Now, Legislators are planning a veto override vote.
Proponents need a 2/3 majority to bypass the Governor’s veto and make this terrible bill become law.
Investigative Reporter Sherrie Peif joined me to discuss her recent articles on this bill and an absurd transparency issue at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).
As mentioned in the video, please email and call Colorado Legislators and urge them to vote NO on the veto override! Please see the list below this video.
Here’s Sherrie’s Post on Facebook that she mentioned:
You only have 12 Republican Senators in Colorado and the following seven want to make your right to public records harder unless you are member of the special press.

Call, email, tag whatever you need to do these folks and tell them to do the right thing the second time around and vote NO NO NO to override Gov. Jared Polis’ veto on SB-077, the Democrats latest attempt to squelch transparency in government. I’m just so very sad that these folks sided with 33 Democrats in the Senate. Unbelivable.
